I am a multimedia artist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, drawn to the alchemy of wood finishes and gilding—mediums I have explored for over a decade, each layer revealing something ancient yet ever-evolving. My work is a dance between contrasts: structure and fluidity, softness and strength, the earthly and the celestial. Inspired by the feminine form, mythology, and geometry, I create pieces that feel both grounded and otherworldly, as if suspended between realms.

My background in frame-making led me to gilding, but over time, it became something much more—a quiet devotion, a ritual of light itself. Gilding is a process of patience and precision, a craft that challenges and rewards. Yet beyond its technique, it carries a deeper meaning for me. Gold is an enigma, a metal that refuses to dim. It does not absorb light but returns it, alive with brilliance. In daylight, it radiates warmth; in the hush of night, even the faintest flicker of flame awakens it. When all else fades into shadow, gold remains—an ember, a whisper of the sun, a reminder of resilience, of that which endures. This theme, of that which still shines in the dark, weaves itself into my work, a quiet devotion to transcendence.

 

Through layered stains, patinas, oil paints and delicate gold leaf, I create surfaces that shift with light, urging the viewer to step closer, to see what emerges in a different glow. Each piece is both a portal and a mirror, reflecting something new with every gaze.
